Momma Kitty is a mature kitty of roughly eight to ten years who belongs to Dr. Andrea Duvall, DVM a veterinarian at South Clackamas Veterinary Service.

When Momma showed signs of pain, “it took me awhile to arrive at a diagnosis,” said Dr. Duvall. “She will in some cases just be resting, will awake with a start, and will begin forcefully licking a spot on her upper back. She in some cases becomes obsessive, to the point of self trauma to her skin.” Dr. Duvall broke her own back years ago, and in some cases she gets what she calls a “zinger”.” It feels like I am being shocked from the inside out,” she says. “I can only imagine how Momma should feel. I surmised that she should have some sort of nerve pain based off of her radiographs which showed fused vertebrae. I diagnosed her in November/December of last year.”

Momma Kitty’s treatment

Dr. Duvall started researching different non-drug options for Momma after her diagnosis. Although Dr. Duvall is certified in acupuncture, Momma isn’t the most receptive to it. She has a laser at the clinic, and used it initially, but didn’t see much of a response. Additionally, Dr. Duvall lives lives 30 minutes from the clinic, “and she does not relish the car ride.” The Assisi loop seemed like the next logical step. Dr. Duvall had purchased a loop at the American association of Veterinary Acupuncture meeting in Portland.

Momma was very receptive to the Loop. “I placed the loop around her  as she laid on me,” said Dr. Duvall. “Snuggle time is a great time to use the Loop! Momma purred SO loud! She started chirp-purring! I could see she was very content.”

Dr. Duvall started noticing improvements immediately.  “I have used the loop on her several times, and she doesn’t lick violently anymore and there’s no much more skin trauma from trying to soothe the pain.”

How the Assisi loop Works

The Assisi Loop, created by Assisi animal Health, is a non-pharmaceutical, non-invasive device offers targeted pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (tPEMF™). tPEMF, which was first studied in the 1970s and is FDA-cleared for use in humans, uses low-level pulses of electromagnetic energy to stimulate the body’s own healing mechanisms to help relieve pain and swelling. This therapy can benefits cats with pain associated with arthritis, pancreatitis, wounds, or post-surgical swelling as well as numerous inflammatory conditions. The loop is well tolerated by many cats. In fact, numerous cats really delight in receiving loop treatments. because the loop stimulates the body’s own healing process, rather than introducing a new substance (like a medication), even a sensitive cat body can deal with it easily.

I was reading how Kitten lady used this on one of her babies yesterday and it was one of the thins that helped save this baby’s life. It’s certainly a miracle product.
