Did Your dog turn Out like You believed He Would?
Did your dog turn out like you believed he would?
It’s important to let dogs be who they are.
My dog Remy is still young, and I’m not entirely sure who he is yet but I understand he’s extremely sweet, likes all people and dogs and is in the middle of the pack as far as assertiveness.
And his energy is explosive! My senior pets and I are shocked by it.
When I dedicated to getting a weimaraner puppy, I knew Remy would be my running and hiking friend but I also imaged him as obedient, an agility dog and capable of visiting coffee shops and restaurants.
He may still be able to do those things in time but my focus with him is shifting to adventure.
Running, hiking, beach visits, camping, backpacking, perhaps hunting.
If we do obedience work, great. If we do agility, even better. I’m not sure he has the focus for those things. We will see.
Remy is a truly great dog. We’ve had him off leash already on a path walk and it was good to see he inspected in with us, kept track of us.
I’m glad he’s growing up. We can go running soon. He can wear a dog backpack soon.
He’s ending up being the dog he’s meant to be.
How about you? Did your dog turn out the method you expected?
